    There are 3 boxes below slider on the front page. How to edit their content? I mean the text itsef, the length of it and forrmatting?

    I know that text is drawn from particular pages. The problem I’d like to solve is to have another text in the box and another on page linked to this box.

    My site: http://nordhouseapartament.pl/

    Hello @gombroo

    The content in 3 three boxes are shown from the particular page that you have selected.
    If you want to edit/add the content you need to go to particular page editor screen from Page Section in Admin Panel and edit as you wish.

    And for the custom link you are trying to add to be linked to different page, Unfortunately, the theme doesn’t support this customization and, as much as we would love to help with some custom code, this is beyond the support offered for our products, which consists of bug fixing and theme documentation.

    Alternatively, you can always hire a customizer to fulfill your particular requirement.
    Fill up the form and send your details to hire a customizer http://wensolutions.com/#hire-customizer-form.

    Hope this will help.

    Best Regards!!!

    Step I : enable excerpt field for Pages.

    add_action( 'init', 'my_add_excerpts_to_pages' );
    function my_add_excerpts_to_pages() {
         add_post_type_support( 'page', 'excerpt' );
    }

    Step II : Thus pull content from that expert field to display it in 3 particular box of those pages in front end.

    For this you need to edit the file inside inc\hooks homepage-service.php .

    Hope this will help you go forward to this requirement.

    Thanks.

    Hello, I wonder also that yhe Services have bug that fetches text from the page. It fetches far too much text. You need to have description field in customizer to add spesifict description text for services.

    Hello @jeroi

    I wonder also that yhe Services have bug that fetches text from the page. It fetches far too much text

    Response:
    In the free version of this theme the default words for the content to be displayed in that section is 30.
    So you can not control the number of words to be displayed in service section is free version.
    However this feature is easily available in pro version of this theme.

    If you are willing to buy free version of the theme there are many more awesome feature available and check it here:

    Hi,

    I am having the same problem. I understand that this is beyond your agreed support but I would really appreciate a little guidance over it as I have searched and searched but not able to break this.

    Can you tell where do I have to add this code?

    add_action( 'init', 'my_add_excerpts_to_pages' );
    function my_add_excerpts_to_pages() {
         add_post_type_support( 'page', 'excerpt' );
    }

    In my WP editor I am not able to locate the file – inc\hooks homepage-service.php. Can you please tell me where can I find it?

    Can this be done via a child theme, by updating the above code in the child’s theme function.php file?

    I would be really grateful if you can assist a little here. Thanks in advance!

    Hello @aakash_os,

    For any modification in the theme you should always go through child theme approach so that your modification will not be lost .

    You can activate the child theme using the plugin given below:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-child-theme-generator/

    After activating the child theme in your child theme functions.php add below give code .

    add_action( 'init', 'my_add_excerpts_to_pages' );
    function my_add_excerpts_to_pages() {
         add_post_type_support( 'page', 'excerpt' );
    }

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards!!

    Hi,

    I tried the above step, but it did not work for me. I created and activated the child theme. In the child theme, in the functions.php file, I added the above code and when I updated the file, it gave me the wordpress white screen dead page and my site was completely nothing.

    Then I had to remove code to get back my site.

    Can you please help here, I would be highly appreciated.

    Hi,

    This is sorted. I figured out the issue and resolved it.

    The child’s theme functions.php did not have write permission to user group. I changed this file permission to --rw-rw-r-- (664) and it worked.

    Thanks for your help earlier.

    Hi,

    I was able to add excerpt field in the pages, but I can still not control the content in the boxes.

    Can you confirm what changes do I need to make /bizlight-pro/inc/hooks/homepge-service.php to start the content in the box to pull from the excerpt field and not from the page itself.

    Your help would be appreciated.

    Hello @aakash_os,

    After adding the code to add the excerpt field in page you also need to make the change in inc\hooks homepage-service.php through child theme to make the excerpt field work .

    For this you need to also add below given code in your functions.php file .

    Hope this helps .

    If you have any confusion further, please let us know .

    Best Regards!!

    Total beginner at Biz light, and having an issue in the 3 box area as well. I created a home, about us and contact page, and wrote two paragraphs of content for the home page. Only the first sentence appears in the first box as it is too small. Is there a way to fit all the info using this box? I hope I’ve explained this well, I appreciate the help.

    Hi all,
    I am struggling with the services boxes as well. I have been trying many things without being successful yet.

    Very much appreciate some help!!

    1 – i created a child theme and activated it

    2 – i added the below to the functions.php file:
    add_action( ‘init’, ‘my_add_excerpts_to_pages’ );
    function my_add_excerpts_to_pages() {
    add_post_type_support( ‘page’, ‘excerpt’ );
    }

    3- I can see the excerpts section in the page editor
    4- Added the required text in the excerpts of the desired pages

    The sections of the homepage are still reading from the text of the target pages, not from the excerpts

    Is it because of the write permission that Akash was referring to? if yes, how do I change it?

    Do I still need to modify some code in the homepage to direct the services boxes to read from the excerpts not the bodies of the target pages?

    Please help me out on this

    Thanks!
    Sam
