I wish to create pages, make them public, but not have them be a part of the top menu over which there is so little control. For example, I want to have my “About Us” and “Contact Us” pages available only in a footer menu and not in the main menu at the top of the page. Can one do this?

I already have the footer menu in place. My struggle is with removing the same items from the top menu. Apparently any public page one creates ends up in that menu system, and I am trying to figure out how to delete items from that menu system. As a matter of fact, I cannot find any way to edit it at all–except for prioritizing the items in it.

Any help would be appreciated.
