    I’m referring to the area of the home page that contains the links to all of the websites other pages. I’d like to make it skinny because it takes up too much of the screen when you first visit the site.

    Could it be that my logo is too big so it forces the banner to be bigger?

    Any help is appreciated!!

    Hello @ndavis43521,

    The height of the header in big due to your logo size so to reduce the height of the header area you have to adjust you logo size .

    For this go to Admin Panel > Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS and paste below given CSS.

    #site-logo {
    max-width: 200px;
}
