Here is my issue.
I just came back to updating my site after a few months of inactivity.
The issue is with thumbnails size. It is my understanding that the proportions of thumbnails for posts are based on the proportions of featured images (is this correct?) In the past, if my featured image was, say, 1200px x 530px, then the thumbnail would be of the same proportions, but smaller. This had worked in the past and you can see this on my website (http://wandering-cloud.co.uk/)
However, I just spent an hour yesterday trying to do the same but it wouldn’t work. My featured image (1200×530) displays just fine on the *post* page, but the thumbnail is of completely different proportions and seems randomly cropped regardless of the fact that in the media gallery the image is clearly still 1200×530! The thumbnail’s size also seems to bear no relation to the dimensions specified in the Settings / Media section of WordPress.
What am I doing wrong? I’d appreciate the support.

June 22, 2020 at 5:25 am #126896wensolutionsKeymasterHello,
Regarding your query, please update to the latest version of the theme and also make sure to verify the issue has been resolved in the recent version too.
Further, please provide us the specific screenshot of the section where you have mentioned the issue about.
Also, make sure you have updated the thumbnail size form the media as mentioned in the screenshot below:
Even if this does not help then kindly let us know.
Regards.
June 22, 2020 at 6:32 am #126903ktlangspecParticipantThank you for such a quick response. I made sure that the update to the recent version was done and just tried the same…
Unfortunately, the same thing persists. Below are links to four screenshots.
http://wandering-cloud.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/screen1.jpg
http://wandering-cloud.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/screen2.jpg
http://wandering-cloud.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/screen3.jpg
http://wandering-cloud.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/screen4.jpgI did just check these work when not logged out into the site as an admin.
If this does not work you could also see them in one of my OneDrive folders, which I am sharing below:
https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aqf6Tm78I9R4g44dMY7XDCRfT51t1g?e=FjtX3hScreen 3 shows what my old thumbnails looked like and what the new one (the first one on there) looks like – I can’t see to be able to control for its dimensions.
Screen 2 shows what the actual media I upload looks like – i.e. it’s horizontal and you can see the precise dimensions there. Screen 4 shows what the featured image looks like on the post’s page (I am happy with that), but Screen 1 is where the problem starts: for whatever reason the horizontal dimensions original image now is cropped to something like 4:3.
Is there a way, by the way, to set a thumbnail image separately from featured image? I’d be quite happy to resize the file for a thumbnail on my PC and then just upload the file separately, but I can’t see that option anywhere.
Many thanks for your support.
KamilJune 22, 2020 at 11:48 am #126937ktlangspecParticipantJust to add to the post earlier (that’s still awaiting moderation at this point), I have found now that the thumbnail being created for the page listing posts is 450px x 450px . This is not specified anywhere (not in the media settings section at all…)
I think I’ve now tried everything I can possibly think of… slightly beginning to lose the will to live :). Let’s see what we can come up with…
Thank you.
June 22, 2020 at 3:30 pm #126946ktlangspecParticipantWell, I did it. I located the following in functions.php
add_theme_support( ‘post-thumbnails’ );
set_post_thumbnail_size( 450, 450, true );I have left the first line to continue enabling setting featured images in posts. However, I deleted set_post_thumbnail_size, meaning that the same proportions are retained for the thumbnails and for the post image. Yay!

July 2, 2020 at 11:39 pm #127715wensolutionsKeymasterHello,
Regarding your query, the single trip page URL that you have sent is showing the maximum group size is 8 as shown in the screenshot below which is working fine.
Please once provide us with the backend screenshot and also a screenshot of the issue you have faced in the frontend trip page so that we can be clear and help you with fixes.
