Hi I’d like to add content to the slider – how do I layer this content? The aim is to have content such as text and an FX Calculator layered above the slider. Can you help please?
Thanks

WEN Corporate Has provided multiple option to set the slider i.e slider can be set from Page , post, category, tags, image .
So if you chose the slider from page then you can go to particular page edit screen and add necessary content in content area of the page . Similarly for the post, category and tag you can go to particular post edit screen and edit the content . For image you you will find the caption box available there where you add your required content .
Hope this helps .
If you need any help further kindly let us know .
Best Regards!!

Also (unrelated sorry) I have used a map in a footer widget but I’d like it to fill the whole widget space, rather than the padding around it. Your help is much appreciated.

Actually we are having trouble in understanding your first query . Please explain your query properly with the screen shot so that we could help you further .
As for the map, You can can use only one widget area i.e. paste map short code in Footer Column 1 by using text widget and keep other footer widget area empty. In this way you will have entire footer widget area covered with the map ,
Hope this helps.
Best regards!!

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I am trying to add a call to action button and a calculator on the front page. I have used the featured image as slider type. How can I add a call to action button to my front page. Hope this makes sense.Regards
July 6, 2017 at 12:12 am #47024wensolutionsKeymasterHello @indigofx,
The theme by default does not have the button on the slider .
As much as we would love to help with some custom code, this is beyond the support offered for our products, which consists of bug fixing and theme documentation.
Our suggestion to you is to hire a professional developer for your customization, so that your theme will no be effected in any way.
To hire a developer please follow the link below

Best Regards.
