I did an audit from SemRush and I got an error message of 90 files with broken javascript or css files. I asked in a FB group and someone explained to me that this means google cannot see any of my pages. My site works fine though, I can access all the pages on all my devices and so can everyone else. Google just can’t find them. I am trying to contact support for my theme, because someone in the FB group said thats all I can do, but this forum is the only place I can find support for my theme (Power Blog). Am I in the correct place?
It makes no sense to me how none of my pages are being seen by Google and this error is coming up yet my site works fine. Other than the fact that I am getting no organic traffic from google (only traffic from social media which is all done by me). So I need to get this fixed but I don’t know what to do, nor do I even understand the problem. I hope someone can help me even with my lack of being able to explain it since I don’t understand how google cant see any of my pages even though they are clearly all working.
November 11, 2020 at 11:50 pm #138443wensolutionsKeymasterHello,
Regarding your query, please once provide us with the proper screenshot of the error you are facing and also please explain clearly that where have you faced the error exactly so that we can follow the exact steps to replicate the error.
Also, please provide us screenshot of the search from google so that we can inspect from our side and provide us with your URL.
Regards.
November 12, 2020 at 10:52 pm #138445GaiaGoddessParticipantI have screenshots of my audit errors on SemRush and the Google search results but I don’t see a way I can post them in this message, I only see an option for a link and theae can’t be sent as links, and the image button only gives an option to post a link too.
The only thing I can think to do is copy and paste one of the error codes directly from my SemRush account:
“90 issues with broken internal JavaScript and CSS files
ABOUT THIS ISSUEA broken JavaScript or CSS file is an issue that should be watched out for on your website. Any script that has stopped running on your website may jeopardize your rankings, since search engines will not be able to properly render and index your webpages. Moreover, broken JS and CSS files may cause website errors, and this will certainly spoil your user experience.
HOW TO FIX ITReview all broken JavaScript and CSS files hosted on your website and fix any issues.”
Then they give all the URL’s that have errors, and one of them is this one:
I did not create this url myself, it isn’t a page on my site. My site’s URL’s all work fine. I was told in a forum on Facebook that this is something within the theme that I can’t fix myself.
My site URL is https://www.holisticlifestyleguide.com/
November 18, 2020 at 5:30 am #138776wensolutionsKeymasterHello,
Actually, the issue you have reported regarding broken javascript and CSS file is related to theme you have used which is not our product so please post your query to respective forum.
If you have any queries regarding our products, please let us know.
Thank you.
November 18, 2020 at 10:29 am #138888GaiaGoddessParticipantI was sent to this forum by two different people, Power Blog is a child theme of ReBlog. This was the only forum I could find. I did ask in my first message if this was the correct place to ask. I will most likely switch to a new theme, this one clearly has issues and has horrible support.
November 19, 2020 at 3:16 am #138943wensolutionsKeymasterHello,
Sorry for the inconvenience, we have reported the issue to the theme author and we will get back to you after the release is made with the issue fixes.
Hoping for your kind co-operation.
Regards.
November 22, 2020 at 11:07 pm #139195wensolutionsKeymasterHello,
Since the power theme is child theme of Reblog theme, once update Reblog theme so that the issue you saw in the child theme after the issue is resolved in parent theme.
Once verify the issue and if the issue is not resolved, get back to us.
Regards.
November 23, 2020 at 12:51 am #139204GaiaGoddessParticipantI always update Reblog every time there is an update, so that is the newest version. I can’t re-run another site audit for a few more weeks, SEMrush only lets you crawl 100 pages a month so I’ll have to check again then.
November 23, 2020 at 1:12 am #139205wensolutionsKeymasterHello,
As power theme is child theme, we have fixed the issue from the parent theme.
So, once check the issue and let us know.
Regards.
December 1, 2020 at 2:18 pm #139811GaiaGoddessParticipantI just got an email from SEMRush saying those issues have been fixed! So I am assuming the theme creator changed something and fixed the problem, because I didn’t do anything and everything appears to be fine now. Thanks for all your support! I am relieved this problem is finally gone and I am getting a good site rating now!
December 1, 2020 at 10:49 pm #139842wensolutionsKeymasterHello,
