Hi,
I have a category called Event on my site, and these posts are shown under Events on the static homepage – so far so good – but I would also like them to be linked to from a calendar and not on the date that I posted them, but on the day that the event is about.
For example: The school ends up with a summerparty on the 8th of june. I write a post about this an may 4th. Your Calendar may show this post on may 4th but I need it to be shown on the 8th of june, and I would like to choose this when I write a post.
Maybe this is beyond the scope of this forum but maybe you can give me a small hint whether the functionality exists somewhere or if I have to write my own plugin. 😉
Regards

There is WordPress default feature available to you for scheduling the post.
For this you need to go to particular post edit screen on right hand side you will see Publish section. Now see this http://prntscr.com/baiih0
After you click on edit you can set the date and time for the post to be published and the post will be scheduled to be published in that particular date rather than in the date you are currently writing your post.
Hope this will help to resolve your issue.
Let us know how it goes.Best Regards!!!
May 31, 2016 at 5:03 am #9168ElisabethParticipantHi,
Thanks for the quick reply but this is not what I was asking about. I want the post to be published on one day but linked to, in the calendar, from another day.
I want to be able to write about an upcoming event, publish the post, and associate another date to the post, from the calendar. If I write about something now that is happening next week I want people to be able to read about it immediately, but I want the Calendar to display it, as an upcoming event, next week. I want to have a calendar that links to published posts and I think this quite a common situation on a school and other similar institutions.

Sorry for misunderstanding you issue.
Unfortunately, the theme doesn’t support this customization and, as much as we would love to help with some custom code, this is beyond the support offered for our products, which consists of bug fixing and theme documentation. But you may find some plugins that will fulfill your requirement.
But whichever plugin you use maybe / may not be compatible with the theme cause the theme is not tested with third party plugins.Alternatively if you don’t want to use any third party plugins then you can always hire a customizer to fulfill your requirement.
Fill up the form and send your details to hire a customizer http://wensolutions.com/#hire-customizer-form.Hope this will help you.
Best Regards!!!
