Installed child theme vital corporate, and clicked on Upgrade now to Dark Music Pro from within theme customization settings. Purchased and activated domain. Can only apply the license to the Dark Music theme, and have no effect on the child theme Vital Corporate. Downloaded Vital Corporate and installed manually to get license update option with no success. Now I have a seemingly useless license which I paid for.

Vital Corporate is the child theme of the free version of dark music. You will get all the features and sections of vital corporate also in the pro version of Dark Music. As you have already upgrade to pro version, you can deactivate the vital corporate child theme and active dark music pro theme and activate license on dark music pro.
All the features you find in the Vital Corporate also in the Dark Music Pro. You don’t need to active the child theme once you have upgrade to pro version. You can active the pro theme and setup your site as per your requirement
