To get all these nice layouts like in the menu and which we saw in the demo before we bought this theme, you cannot use a “normal page” to get this nice layouts, all food items has to be in Woo commerce. This difference is that users can now click on these food items. One a “normal page” they can’t. Once clicked you see all these suggestions like “You might like also …… etc).
The problem is, we don’t want that. How the food menu is now (or even on the homepage where you have this problem too) is fine by us. Most food items don’t need even a picture too, like tea or coffee. Besides that, once visitors click and want to go back, they are redirected to a page where all the food items are categorized in a complete different way as where they came from
However, we cannot find an option to make the all the food items “unclickable”. Is this in the theme and where can we find it?
June 15, 2018 at 12:45 am #73833wensolutionsKeymasterHello @gustogambia,
To make the food item in the menu page unclickable we need your menu page URL so that we can turn off the links for the food menu.
Thank you.

Thanks for the quick reply.
The menu page is https://gustogambia.com/menu/
But we have the same problem on the homepage too with special item section, specials of the week, and testimonials.

Marc

Please use below given CSS to turn off the links in the sections that you have mentioned.
For this go to Admin Panel > Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS and paste below given CSS.
section#client-testimonial { pointer-events: none; } section#food-menu { pointer-events: none; } .page-template-custom-templatemenu-page-php #content a { pointer-events: none; }
Hope this helps.
Best Regards!!

We installed the CSS but a small problem appeared in the fifth menu section.
As you can see we have 3 categories in extra: Appetizers, desserts and side dishes.
But the last 2 categories cannot be clicked now.

Marc
June 24, 2018 at 11:56 pm #74338wensolutionsKeymasterHello @gustogambia,
To make only those menu unclickable requires higher customization and as much as we would love to help you this we are unable to do so.
So, if you want particularly them to be unclickable then you can hire a customizer.
For this you can follow below-given link:

Hope this helps.

Sorry to say, but this whole “clickable” thing was also not clear to us while we saw the demo and instructions during the buying process of this theme.
As far we can see, we are forced to use Woo commerce to get these nice layouts or are we wrong? If you don’t choose the Woo commerce, then your only option is a normal category which we tested and then the price tag is missing.
The fact that all menu items are “clickable” force you to make a picture and text (for a cup of tea?) for every menu item (all pics has also be the same size) , then you have to make cross sellings etc to make it look nice. Completely waste of hours and hours work, while we don’t even want this option.
We don’t want that. Why not standard just an option to make this food menu “clickable” or not?
This whole Woo Commerce thing is also with shopping basket and order online options etc. which cost lot of time to delete it.
More logic to us is that restaurants who don’t have online orders need to be free of all this hassle. Or at least have a better explanation in this issue in your demo and instructions.
Regards,
Marc

We just send the email.
In our logic a question.
If sections of a page can be switched off separate from other sections like we did on the homepage, can you do this is also on the menu page.
Then we leave the Extra section for what it is and clickable.
July 3, 2018 at 12:02 am #74795wensolutionsKeymasterHello @gustogambia,
Thank you for the email.
Yes, it is possible to make your menu page work as you want through the customization.
So now we will reply to you via email further.
Thank you.
Regards!!
