Is it possible to set the text on the featured slider caption so that it is different from that on the page that it is linked to?
The featured slider on my site shows all the text on the page that is set as featured. I would like it to be like this: img 2.
This is what mine looks like currently, it picks all the text on the page.

Yes it is possible, but the feature you are requesting is not available on the Lite version that you are using. It is available in PRO version of the theme.
If you wish to check this feature prior to its purchase, you can find the walk-through in the documentation itself under Slider Block title.
