I just got started, I followed your instructions and I seem to be having a hard time. My logo Site Title and tag line are located in the “Services” area. I tried to add your header image and I can’t see it on my home page. Why do I have a yellow bar as my header?
I want my home page to be a static page and look like the demo, is that possible?

February 26, 2017 at 12:19 pm #33504dghdesignsParticipantI thought I had it, but the Header image is not showing up on my website. I can’t see it on my home page. I loaded it. I have the home page as a static page. For some reason it was showing the image I used for the service area under sign design. I do not want to use images that are in the service area. I want to use a new one. Can you please tell me how to get my header image to show up?
Also, I would like to remove the “Comment Section”. Please send instruction on how to do that.
Why do I have a yellow bar as my header? Can I change that?
Thank you Dawn

February 27, 2017 at 12:58 am #33547wensolutionsKeymasterHello @dghdesigns,
The feature to set the header image in the home page i.e front page display is not available in the theme.
But you can still use the slider feature and set only one image you like .Also the site URL you have provided is currently under construction so, please make us clear about the comment section you want to remove with the proper screen shot.
As for the yellow line it the background color for the site header section .
Hope this helps.
For further issue, we are always here for you.
March 10, 2017 at 11:27 am #35267dghdesignsParticipantHello
I got me header image working, but still need to tweak a few things:
I turned off the “Under Construction” mode, my site: dghdesigns.org
1) I still need to remove the “comment section” at the bottom of all my Portfolio pages.
2) I would like to remove the word “Home” in the caption on the header image above the text that reads; “Specializing in custom Interior and Exterior Sign Design and Sign Packages. Starting a new business or rebranding and existing business?… Read More>”
I would also, like to change the color of that.3) How do I make “Read More” a link that jump the viewer to the bottom of the page.
Thanks Dawn
March 13, 2017 at 6:26 am #35523wensolutionsKeymasterHello @dghdesigns,
Please find below the responses on each of your requests below :
1) I still need to remove the “comment section” at the bottom of all my Portfolio pages.
You can remove the comments from your individual portfolio items by simply editing the individual posts in the portfolio section and un-checking the “Allow Comments” metabox below the content editor.
If you cannot find the discussions metabox, please make sure you have activated it from Screen Options > Discussions Checkbox.
I would like to remove the word “Home” in the caption on the header image
To remove the “Home” title text in the slider you can use the following custom CSS in your Admin Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS :
.home #featured-slider .caption-wrap h3 { display: none; }
Also, To change the color of the caption background use the CSS below :
#main-slider p { background: #e9c01e none repeat scroll 0 0; }
You can change the color hex with the color hex code of your desired color.
3) How do I make “Read More” a link that jump the viewer to the bottom of the page.
As the read more button takes the URL of the post / page selected for the slider, currently it is not possible without code customization or script implementation to scroll users to the bottom of the page when clicking on it.
Hope this Helps,
Best Regards !!
