I’ve just started setting up a website using the Education Hub theme. I want a static home page, and have gone through the process I’ve used on my other website (with a different theme), ie create a page called ‘Home,’ set ‘Home’ as the static front page, then create a menu.
However, a second ‘home’ page appears on the website. I can’t edit it (Ie, it doesn’t appear in the ‘all pages’ view and I can’t get rid of it.
Please can someone tell me how to set up my site to have a single ‘Home’ page, set as the front, static, page, which I can add some text to (Ie I don’t want it to show new posts).
Thank you!

Upon switching theme, you do not need to create a new “Home” page for your website to display the static front page in the website.
If you have created duplicate home pages you should be able to remove / delete it from the Admin Dashboard > pages. If the pages are no seen on the All pages menu it is possible that you have a custom link in the menu “Home” that is linked to the site URL. If that’s the case, the menu item can be removed from Admin Dashboard > Appearance > Menus.
You can then use the page as your static front page from Admin Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Static Front Page > Front Page Displays > A Static Page and choose your page there.
For further details on using the Education Hub theme, please see the theme’s official documentation from the link here : http://themepalace.com/theme-instructions/education-hub/
If you still have trouble setting up your website please explain your issues with your Website URL so that we could look into the issue further and provide a possible fix.
Hope this Helps,
Best Regards !!
January 20, 2017 at 6:27 am #29138margeryParticipantThank you for your reply. I have deleted the home page I created and deleted the menu to try to get back to where I started. The home page still appears on the site but I can’t edit it.
I can’t see it in the All Pages menu.
I can’t set it as the static home page as it doesn’t appear as an option.
I can see it on the ‘view all’ tab on the menu option. The url of my site is; http://theeconomicstutor.co.uk
I’d appreciate your help to resolve this. Thank you!
January 20, 2017 at 6:39 am #29140wensolutionsKeymasterHello @margery,
While we have inspected your website it is seen that your front page is currently displaying “Latest Posts” on the front page. As you do not have any blog posts in the site currently, you are seeing the “Nothing found… message”.
Also the “Home” in your menu text is a custom link and not a home page. Please go to Admin Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Static Front Page > Front Page Displays > A Static Page and choose your “Home” page there. Save & publish your changes and the page will be displayed in the front of your website.
Hope this Helps,
Best Regards !!
January 20, 2017 at 6:59 am #29142margeryParticipantThanks! The problem is still the ‘extra’ home page.
If I follow your instructions Admin Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Static Front Page > Front Page Displays > A Static Page, the Home page doesn’t appear as an option. If I create a new Home Page, then I have 2 home pages.
Thank you in advance for your help with this.
January 23, 2017 at 2:03 am #29432wensolutionsKeymasterHello @margery,
The page creation issue is highly unlikely to have been caused by the theme itself.
However, if you still need assistance on the issue that you are facing, you can send your WordPress back end login credentials to our official support e-mail : support[at]wensolutions.com so that we could log into your website and further check for the issue.
Best regards !!
