    I try to add photos to the header and it looks really dark!

    Hello @yanade1991,

    To remove the overlay effect in the header image use below given CSS.

    For this go to Admin Panel > Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS and paste below given CSS.

    section#banner-image .black-overlay {
    background-color: transparent;
}
