Hi,
I have a static front page. If I wish to add for example three different images on front page slider (image will be linked to page) do I have to upgrade to Pro version?

Yes the option to chose the image to display slider section is available in the pro version . Featured slider can also be set from the page/post/category/image/tag in the pro version .
