Query 1 : Where to upload my picture for the home page on the right side of the page ?

Response : To change the image of the home page, please go to Admin Panel > Appearance > Customize > Front page > Introduction and select the page from which you want to get the content from. The featured image of the respective page will display the image on the right side of the homepage.

Query 2 : It looks like there are background colors and background images that are not loading from the demo. is there something I am missing?

Actually, on the front page, the background image or the color is not displayed as there is block sections covering the front page.

The background image and the color will be visible in other pages. Also, it seems that you have not added the background color or the images. So make sure to add them and verify by checking it in single pages/posts.
