thank you for your fast response with you easy step by step instruction
The only issue I’m having is my social media links. the icons and links only appear when the is also a link in the header. As soon as i remove that link, the other icon and link vanishes

Actually, we are quite clear with your issue but when we inspected your site URL we found that there is no any icon displayed in the top left corner of the header.
Since the are is to display the social menu, to make the social menu display there please follow below given steps:
Now to display the social icon on the top header please follow below given steps:
Step 1: Create the social menu by going to Admin Panel > Appearance > Menu by including your desired custom links:

Step 2: Assign the created social menu to the social menu location either from Admin Panel > Appearance > menus or from Admin Panel > Appearance > Customize > Menus > Menu Location.
Step 3: Now got to Admin Panel > Appearance > Customize > Theme Option > Header option and enable the option “Show Social Icons”.
The left and the right section on the to top header is independent to each other i.e. you separately enable/disable the menu section and phone, email section.
