Hi,
Mi nav bar has 3 sub items under main item named PRE-SCHOOL.
However, mouse over function does not always display them. It is very random and can put visitors off after a couple of attempts.
It’s really important for me to fix this as it is the main topic of the entire site.
ThanksJune 6, 2016 at 11:55 pm #9771wensolutionsKeymasterHello @mckormack@gmail.com
Please try and add the following custom css to
Dashboard -> Appearance -> Customize -> Theme Options -> Advanced Options.
.main-navigation ul ul { top: 40px; }
Hope this will help to resolve your issue.
Let us know how it goes.Regards!!!
June 17, 2016 at 12:37 pm #10857ChrisParticipantI have added the code shown above but the sub menu is proving very difficult to access on tablets and smartphones (it would seem in particular on Apple devices)- Is there anything that can be done to slow it down much much more??
THanksChris
June 18, 2016 at 8:51 am #10897wensolutionsKeymasterHello Chris, can you please post in your site URL so that we can inspect it to provide you the particular solution ?
Also, please try to verify our demo to contrast this issue to see if any plugin CSS is causing this issue.
Thank you.
June 18, 2016 at 11:09 am #10899ChrisParticipantThe site is http://www.stpetersschoolmarlow.org.uk/ If needed please let me know via email and I can provide access to the site – sorry wont put access details on here.
Chris
PS Very few plugins installed and have disabled all not in use – but the same issue when trying to use menu on a touch screen device to access a sub menu item.June 18, 2016 at 11:56 pm #10936wensolutionsKeymasterHello @cjuden@yahoo.co.uk
As far as we have seen and inspected your site it is seen that you have added the custom CSS given above.
Please try removing the above given CSS. By removing the above given CSS would probably fix your issue.
If it’s not fixed and you are still having issue please explain your issue in more details.Best Regards!!!
June 20, 2016 at 4:24 am #10973ChrisParticipantHi thanks for the suggestion – Have now removed that CSS but the issue is still there. To recreate issue please use a tablet device (I have used a Nexus 10 and similarly sized IPAD) – GO to menu and try and select one of the sub menu items under About US or Key Information or Children. – I cannot find a way of selecting any of the sub items…
Thanks
Chris
June 20, 2016 at 7:31 am #10976wensolutionsKeymasterThe menu is design and programmed such a way for touch devices that when you give a first tap on the main menu ( e.g. About Us ) which has its dropdown then it would open up its sub-menu. On second tap, the same menu will redirect you to its respective page.
Can you please verify this and let us know ?
Also make sure you test it by disabling all other plugin to verify any conflicting behavior.
June 20, 2016 at 9:53 am #10998ChrisParticipantOk, all site Plugins are currently disabled, but I am still unable to select any of the sub items on About Us or Children or Key Information. All that happens when trying to select any sub menu item is you are taken to the topic heading page. None of the sub menu items are able to be selected.
June 21, 2016 at 6:39 am #11043wensolutionsKeymasterHello,
We checked the issue you are facing on iPad, and it is working fine as per our instructions.
Please verify
And tell us how it goes.Hope it help,
Best regards.June 23, 2016 at 4:27 am #11146ChrisParticipantSorry I do not agree that it is working properly. On both tablets and touch screen laptops when you try and select ANY sub menu item it is very random whether it can be selected. On most occasions the only item that comes up it the page associated with the main menu heading and NOT the sub menu item.
June 23, 2016 at 7:23 am #11149wensolutionsKeymasterHello,
Sorry that you are facing this issue,
But we have also tried best from our-side and already checked your site on iPad where your webpage showed no issues,
Also we do want to help you furthermore,But we will be needing a video of you unit testing the menu on iPad so that we can clearly see your issue. You can share the link to your video via Dropbox or any other cloud share/storage.
You can post the video link on this thread itself.
Hope you understand,
Best regards.June 24, 2016 at 6:46 am #11276ChrisParticipantI have re-checked with client and they are now saying it is working properly. I am only seeing the issue when using Chrome with Windows 10 but if you are saying this is working fine for you – then I will assume it is something on my pc and will investigate that further. Many thanks for your support
