I managed to find solution to the problem with the social icons. It was needed to create a new menu with custom links to the facebook page for example.

The second problem is also resolved. The were no post in any category, so the list was empty. When I made new post, the category list appeared.
I would change this behaviour if it is possible, to not depend on the number of posts in each category.
