The reported issue is quite unlikely to occur. In our side, the customizer is working perfectly fine.

Please verify the issue by switching to the default theme i.e Twenty Nineteen. Also, to inspect the issue further, we will be needing your site login credentials.

When we tested the reported issue on our side, we could not replicate it and everything is working perfectly fine in our side. Have you set the homepage sections from the customizer as well ?

By that we mean, have you enabled the sections as slider on the front page and selected the page/posts from where you want to fetch the content from ? Go to, Admin Panel > Appearance > Customize > Featured Slider > Slider Type and select the Slider Type.

The theme is designed in such a way that the section that are placed in the front page are highlighted with its own details. Due to this reason in this theme and in any other theme, background image cannot be displayed in the front page.

There has been no blocking issue so we have not released the update as for now but we will definitely release the update making some enhancements in the theme.

As for charging query, we only asked the user to hire a customizer if it requires higher code customization for the additional feature that is not available in the theme.
