The feature that you have requested is not available in the theme and to make it available requires higher code customization.

The issue is quite unlikely to happen.
The issue may have due to the conflict with other third-party plugins as we do not get such kind of issues upon updating in our side.

In the mobile view, the background image will adjust its position accordingly. Displaying it as in the desktop is not possible as the screen size differs.

When we tested the reported issue in our side, post are being published exactly the way it should. Also, please note that this issue is not in any way related to the theme but with the WordPress core.
However, the issue might be there in your side because of the time zone conflict with the post time and the WordPress dashboard time. Please once verify the timezone of the dashboard by going to Admin Panel > Settings > General

Please attach the below given CSS by going to Admin Panel > Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS
img.aligncenter.wp-post-image { display: none; }Also, the icons that you have highlighted comes from the core theme file and customizing the codes in the parent theme can cause remove all the changes that you have made to the core file once you update the theme. Due to this reason, we recommend you to make the customization in the child theme.

Currently the icons above the menu are not clickable and to make the icons clickable, changes in the core theme file is required.
However, we have listed this feature as a requested feature and will be releasing the update with the feature included in theme in our future updates.
