Is there a special way to make a child theme out of this? I’m unable to get my images and colors to appear, but I am able to get the formatting to be 90% correct, the topheader isn’t aligned correctly, its down in the body paragraph, but I’m not worried about that now.

You can activate the child theme manually and to know more about it please refer to below link:

And easy way is, you can even activate the child theme using the plugin given below:

We strongly recommend you to make any changes through the child theme .
