Hi, I can’t seem to work out how to remove the Blog posts from the top of my front/home page. I do want to include the Blog in the site but it is not the most important thing and I just want it as a menu item and possibly a sidebar. Is there a way I can remove it? thanks in advance

    Hello michellepolkadot-net-au,

Actually, we are not quite clear which section you want to remove from the theme so please provide the screenshot so that we can help you further.

Also if you meat by the section that appears beside the slider then it can be removed by going to Admin Panel > Appearance > Customize > Widgets > Featured Section right and remove all the widgets.

    Thank you 🙂 .

    Best Regards!!

Thank you for your prompt reply. How do I send you a screenshot? It doesn’t seem to be an option to attached or paste a picture.

Just to explain a little more. When looking at my home page you see

    Logo (which I inserted)
    Menu (which I customised)
Blog Post (image with a read more button)
    Home page

I don’t want the blog post to appear on this page at all. I can’t seem to find where to remove it. It is not a widget and in Homepage settings I have selected a static page, then selected my home page. But it still appears. I am wondering if it is coded to appear on the home page. It doesn’t appear on any of my other pages.

    Hello michellepolkadot-net-au,

The theme by default will list the blog posts initially after the activation of the theme.

So to change the homepage into the structure and list the posts in blog page only you need to manage the Homepage setting by going to Admin Panel > Appearance > Customize > Homepage Settings.

Here at first set “Your homepage displays” to “A static page” and then chose the pages to display in Homepage and Posts Page. Most preferably Home page and Blog page respectively.

    Hope this helps.

    Hello michellepolkadot-net-au,

Since you have already done the steps mentioned above, please provide the screenshot of the issue.

You can send us the screenshot using the tool like light shot:

Also please provide your site URL for inspection.

    Thank you 🙂 .

    Best Regards!!

    Hi there,

    Thank you for your reply.

I know how to take a screenshot, the problem was that I can’t attached the screen shot anywhere. Do you have an email address I can send it to? It won’t let me paste an image in this forum. You can try this URL http://www.polkadot.net.au/2018/ and see if you can view the page as I have made it public.

So just to explain, I have an existing website that I am changing over to this Theme. So the Blog automatically moved over as it was in my current site. Regardless of my blog content there must be an option somewhere that automatically puts the blog on the home/front page. I just can’t seem to find where. It is not a widget and I have changed the settings in the homepage settings as you have previously mentioned. Possibly the problem is that in the Homepage settings it makes you select a blog page with no option to say not blog page on the homepage? I’m not sure if it works like that.

So on our home page you will see our logo, the menu, the picture of the kids with the read now button (this is the blog that I don’t want to appear). The bit under it is my home page and that is all I want to appear on this homepage other than some widgets that I will add in later.

Let me know if you can help

    Thanks,
    Michelle

    Hello @michellepolkadot-net-au,

The option to disable the slider is within the theme. For this go to Admin Panel > Appearance > Customize > Featured Section > Basic Setting and uncheck the “Enable Featured Section”. This will make the slider disappear on the homepage page.

As for the screesnhot, you can save the image globally that you have taken using the lightshot by clicking on cloud-like structure and paste the link here.

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards!!
