I have the Latest News widget set up in the front page widget area of InTHeJamMusic.com. The system automatically inserts the ‘Read More’ text at the end of the excerpt. Clicking the Read More goes to another page with just that excerpt and another ‘read more’ insert. Clicking that does nothing.
How do I get the first ‘Read More’ to show the whole post, not just the excerpt with ‘read more.’

Can I help with any additional information? I would really like to get this cleared up; it’s important to have the read more feature actually work because publishing the whole post on the first page is not a good idea at all.

When we inspected your site URL we found that the theme that is currently active in your site is not the Clean commerce pro.
Since the theme is not clean commerce we really could not help you with this.

And now the insert link isn’t working. How do I insert a screen shot? sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Very frustrating. Clicking on the “Read more” button of the post in the latest news section will lead you to the single post page where you will see the detail of the post.
Please have a look into the screen record below:
So in your case for the further inspection please, please activate the clean corporate pro theme and provide the URL.

That link you sent leads to a video of an egg in rollers, I have no idea how this relates to my problem.
I made an error on the website name, sorry, but the same problem exists on both sites.
As I can not get the images to upload, this is the url of the website — you will have to copy and paste it to see the problem in action:
Scroll down to ‘what happens at a workshop’. There is a picture and an excerpt plus ‘read more’
This is the Clean Corporate: Latest News widget in the Front Page widgets area.
Clicking on the ‘read more’ takes the reader to another page which has the picture and the excerpt and the ‘read more’ prompt again .
Clicking on that ‘read more’ prompt displays the same picture and the ‘read more’ prompt again.

As we have mentioned that the widget is working fine locally. So please check out your permalink structure if you have changed anything or not?
Also, have a look into the permalink structure of our post from the single post page and your single post page.
If you have changed then please revert back so that the read more link will lead to the single post page.

Please go back to the site and look again. On the screen capture you sent, you did not scroll down to the text portion of the ‘what happens at a workshop’ redirect from the front page area widget. If you had, you would have seen that the system is re-printing the excerpt with another ‘read me’ button. Which just refreshes the excerpt, it is not printing the entire post.
And this problem has nothing to do with the permalink post name clarification, the issue existed before the permalink change was made. I had to remove the front page widget, Latest News, because the read more tag did not work, as I said in several emails. The client got angry so I had to change to a page post instead. I reported this problem over 2 weeks ago, and she had no more patience.December 3, 2018 at 5:50 am #86288
