Im having a similar issue and under customize I don;t have a static front page option, it seems. Only site identity, background image, theme options, featured carousel, color options, menus, widgets and additional CSS. As the previous writer, I can get a carousel into the header or a sidebar, but not the center front page as show on the demo. I tried going to widgets page and dropping the widget into front page there but still nothing. url is draintrumpsswamp.com
