You are not able to update to that latest version may be because your theme license has expired.

All our premium themes come with initial 1 year of Subscription. This means that you can download the updates and get private support forum access till 1 year of purchase date. But after one year, you will need to renew your subscription in order to continue downloading updates

So please check once your license expiry.

To import the changes, please copy the code from the style.css and code from the functions.php of child theme of the free theme to the child theme of pro theme.

You need to check the classes as well since the class name in the free version varies from the class name of the pro version.

To change the color of the section that you provided in the screenshot, add below-given CSS by going to:
Admin Panel > Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS

.main-navigation li.current-menu-item > a, .main-navigation li.current_page_item > a {
   border-bottom: 3px solid #2196F3;
}

.main-navigation li > a:hover {
   border-bottom: 3px solid #2196F3;
}

You can add the color code as per your requirement.

Yes, definitely there will be future updates as it is a continuous development process.

So to be able to access any future update you need to update the license key.

Regarding the compatibility, as the theme is compatible with the recent version of the WordPress but also we are on continuous development and in case of any error in future, we will definitely fix them.
