Even with the Pro version, i cannot get the main slider working using featured pages. If I use featured images, it is fine but I would like to use featured pages.

While we have tested the featured slider with pages on our side, the featured pages option for the slider is working fine o our side.
Please verify you have followed the steps for the slider settings as in the theme documentation link below :

If the steps above does not resolve the issue, provide us your Website URL so that we could inspect your website for the issue and provide you with the possible fix.

To increase the no of slider go to Admin Panel > Appearance > Customize > Featured Slider > Slider Type.
Here you will find the field No of slides . From here you can increase the increase number of sliders to display .
Also, please create your own ticket for posting the issue as it would be easier for us to track down your issue and provided the fixes ,
