    upon further investigation I had the menu ids in the wrong spot. thanks for the help though

    I looked I have
    Admin Panel > Appearance > Customize > Homepage Settings
    but no “homepage sections” or “Special Items Section”

    correction I created 4 dishes in menu items but still cannot get them to appear in special dish section.

    Any reason why?

    nevermind it has to do with Jetpack
