First of all, thank you so much for using the theme.
Regarding your issue, the reason that the homepage is appearing twice in the menu may be because you have assigned the homepage twice while registering the menu.

Also, for the slider in homepage, you can setup the sliders from the option Featured Slider by going to Admin Panel > Appearance > Customize > Featured Slider > Slider Type. In the Slider Type option, you will get multiple choices from which you can set the slider.

If you select the Featured Image option directly, you will get the field to upload the images in the customizer screen itself. Upon selecting the option as pages, post and category, you need to upload the featured image in the respective page/post or assign the page/post to some category.

When we inspected your site URL, we noticed that the widget that you have registered in the sidebar is working perfectly well.
If you want more widgets in the sidebar apart from the existing one, you need to register the widgets in the sidebar by going to Admin Panel > Appearance > Widgets
If this is not what the issue that you tried to explain to us, please elaborate your issue further and write us back as for now everything seems to work perfectly fine.

Currently, there is no such feature of uploading the image for each destination (category). The image will come from the trips from that destination and to work as you want to require higher code customization.
Also, currently you can only change the slug URL of the trip listing page but not of the destination. If you want then you can hire a professional developer.

Now please find answers to your query below:
1- trying to remove ” / person ” next to price
Response: Currently it not possible as it requires higher code customization.
2- having the ability to remove the necessity to select dates to go thru for a purchase
Response: Yes, if you add the pricing option and dates and assign that pricing option to that dates will remove the date picker from the front end. Since the date will be fixed there is no need of having the calendar in the pricing option.
3- figuring out how to have a pdf file bought and downloadable after purchase as a trip guide
Response: Currently, there is no such feature but if you require then you can hire a professional developer.

The sidebar area is defined only in the home content area, single post, single page and archive pages. Since it is not defined for the front page section, it requires higher level code customization as we need to work on the layout as well.
So if you want then you can hire the professional developer so that you would get what you want.

To make the category available make sure to assign the post you have created in the categories of your choice. Then the categories will be available in the option “Select Category:“.
Also, to integrate with Facebook and Google requires higher code customization.
