The license issue is raised mainly due to two specific issue. One is as you mentioned, the license expiry issue. So please check properly your purchased date as the license is valid for only a year.
Also, you may have tried to use the license key in the new site which you have previously used in another site. So if you want the license to reuse in another site we need to reset it as the license will only work for a single domain.

We would like to apologize for the trouble.
Since the popular section is set up from the widget, you can select the particular category that you want to display in this section. Also, you need to make sure it is published earlier than the post that you wanted to display in the blog sections.
But we will definitely work on this issue in the future.

To activate the pro theme that you have purchased, you need to enter the license that you have received after the download of the pro theme.
To enter the license of the theme, go to, Admin Panel > Appearance > Theme License . Inside the theme license field, enter the licence that you’ve received.

Currently, there is no such option in the theme to exclude the categories you want and to make it work in such a way require higher code customization.

All the strings in the theme are already translation ready and can be translated into any language you want.
For the translation, of the string, you can use the loco translate plugin.

Now, to have the icon in the menu section above the menu items you have to add the font awesome classes in the backend in menu sections.
For this goto Admin Panel > Appearance > Menus .
To make the section to place the CSS classes appear you have to check the CSS classes in the screen options as seen in screen shot below.
