We could provide you a custom CSS to change the font option but it would be quite specific, so you can use easy to use and simple plugin like https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-google-fonts/ to change your fonts.

That way you can change the fonts on other parts of the theme as well, also it is easy to use and has customizing option.

To add a shadow around the main content area and the sidebars of your website please paste in the following custom CSS code to your Admin Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Theme Options > Advanced Options > Custom CSS field :

/* Shadow For Primary Sidebar */

#sidebar-primary .area-wrapper {
    box-shadow: 0 0 48px #000;
}

/* Shadow For Secondary Sidebar */

#sidebar-secondary .area-wrapper {
    box-shadow: 0 0 48px #000;
}

/* For Main Content Area */

main#main {
    box-shadow: 0 0 48px #000;
}

You can customize the CSS code to increase / decrease the amount of shadow (px) and also change the shadow color to the hex color code of your desired color.

Are you on Godaddy by any chance? Some other people have similar experience and it seems like it might be related to the use of PHP’s APC for caching.

Try flushing the cache. Also you can check with Godaddy about this issue if you are on this hosting.

If you are having trouble using child theme creator plugins in your website, you can also try creating a child theme for your theme manually.

Also, Please note that upon creation of child theme and activation, the customization made in the parent theme are not applied to the child theme by default.

Since your request is leading a different way, we would like to give you a different approach to your issue.

First of all, remove the CSS we previously gave you.

Now go to Dashboard -> Appearance -> Customize -> Theme Options -> Layout Options and set the Global Layout option to No Sidebar.

It will disable your sidebar on all pages including the home page, but not to worry now we are going to enable the sidebars on the home page.

Finally, Go to Dashboard -> Pages and open your static front page in edit mode.
On the bottom you will be able to see Theme Settings where you can see the Choose Layout option.
Change the option to Three Columns ( Primary – Content – Secondary )
