Try rolling back to 1.5.2 and updating again. Something may have screwed up on the initial update, I’m pretty sure that’s what happened to me. Just go to the download page for Graduate and manually change the download link from 1.5.3 to 1.5.2, it’ll download the older version for you. Install that one, then try updating to 1.5.3 again.
I don’t know what changed, but I downgraded to 1.5.2 yesterday and everything worked perfectly again. Overnight the site auto-updated again (thought I’d blocked it but didn’t work), and it works fine this time. No plugins updated in that time. Must have just been an error when the first update ran.
