Rotorm - Survival Products https://rotorm.com/ #RotormSurvival #RotormTactical #RotormMilitary #rotorm #best #tactical #survival #military #reviews #shop #online #fearless #products #gear #equipment #tactical equipment #survival tools #military gear Disease The symptoms and course of some specific diseases will be discussed below, but in an extreme situation it is necessary to remember some dangers. The main danger is associated with insects - carriers of infectious diseases: • Lice carry typhoid and relapsing fever. • Mosquitoes are carriers of malaria, tropical fever and some other diseases. • Flies are carriers of diseases such as sleeping sickness, typhoid, cholera and dysentery. • Fleas can be carriers of the plague. • Some flea and tick species can be carriers of cerebrospinal meningitis. • Bites of wasps and bees can be fatal for people who are allergic to their poison. FROM US ARMY EXPERIENCE Measures against insects Due to the fact that the US military often must fight in regions where poisonous insects are found, the US Army takes very effective measures against them. Do not underestimate the dangers posed by poisonous insects. • At least once a day, inspect your body for insects that may be on it. • Lubricate any parasites that stick to your body with petroleum jelly, thick oil, or tree sap to block the air from reaching the insect. The grip of the parasite will weaken, and you can tear it from the body (you need to take the tick in the place where its mouth hole comes into contact with the skin). After detaching the parasite, wash your hands thoroughly and wash the wound left by it every day. • If you find yourself in an area where chiggers, ticks, or other similar parasitic insects are common, wash yourself thoroughly with soap every day. • If you were bitten by a bee or wasp, immediately remove the sting and poison that got there from the wound. Do it with the tip of a knife or nails, do not squeeze! Then wash the bite site with plenty of soap and water and apply a cold compress or ice to the wound. • Remove irritation and scabies from insect bites by applying ice, cold compresses, a cooling paste of mud mixed with ash, dandelion juice, coconut pulp or ground garlic leaves to the bite sites. Poisoning The main types of poisoning that are possible in an extreme situation are associated with the consumption of poisonous plants, animals and marine inhabitants (see the chapter on food), as well as with the bites of snakes and insects. One should especially beware of the bites of spiders, centipedes, scorpions and ants. These bites can cause malaise, serious illness, or even death - try to find out what dangerous insects and animals inhabit the territory in which you are going to travel. To handle a bite of a spider or scorpion, you need to do this: first rinse and clean the bite site, and then suck or squeeze out the poison that has penetrated the wound (although this may turn out to be ineffective). If you have tobacco, chew it and attach it to the wound to reduce pain. Then treat as with an open wound (see above). FROM THE EXPERIENCE OF THE BRITISH CAC Poisoning treatment Employees of the Special Aviation Service have been fighting in various exotic countries on Earth for more than 50 years and use the well-established rules for the treatment of poisoning. • If you eat a plant that may be poisonous, immediately induce vomiting. • A homemade antidote is an alternative: mix tea and activated charcoal with an equal-mass portion of milk of magnesia (if you have one). Coal absorbs poisons and toxins from the body and brings it out. • If you have skin contact poisoning, wash the affected area thoroughly with soap and water and remove clothing that has been exposed to the poison. • Remove aggressive chemicals from the skin by rinsing with water. Keep in mind the chemical and physical properties of the substance you were exposed to. • If you breathe poisonous air, immediately transport the injured person from the infected area, loosen the pressure clothing and breathe in to the injured person. Snake bites Despite the prevailing opinion, practice shows that in an extreme situation it is rather difficult to be bitten by a poisonous snake. Nevertheless, it is important to remember that this can still happen, and to know what to do if you are bitten by a poisonous snake. Snake venom is divided into two categories: chemotoxic and neurotoxic. Some types of snakes have poison, combining the properties of both types. The snakes themselves are divided into the following subspecies: • Crotalidae - this subspecies includes, for example, vipers. • Elapidae - coral snakes, cobras, mambas, aspids and efa. • Hydrophine - sea (water) snakes. • Colubridae - tree snakes https://rotorm.com/tactical-dog-harness/ https://rotorm.com/best-tactical-pens/ https://rotorm.com/best-ghillie-suits/ https://rotorm.com/military-mess-kit/ https://rotorm.com/best-water-enhancer/ https://rotorm.com/best-fire-piston/ https://rotorm.com/best-liquid-containers/ https://rotorm.com/best-survival-alerts/ https://rotorm.com/wood-burning-backpacking-stove/ Rotorm - Tactical Products https://rotorm.com/ Snake Bite Treatment US Green Berets use the following rules for treating snakebites: • If you were bitten by a snake, kill it - this will help determine its appearance, in addition, it will give you some comfort. • The bitten person should be immediately laid down and the bitten limb immobilized as soon as possible. • Bitten should be kept warm and not disturbed. • Next, treatment should be carried out, which depends on which snake attacked the person: CROTALIDAE • Make an incision 0.3-0.6 cm long along or in the direction of the muscle closest to the bite. Avoid incisions in the area of joints and do not make cruciform incisions. • Suck out the poison and blood from the incision with a mechanical device. Use your mouth only as a last resort if you have no injuries or sores in your mouth. • Poison suction through an incision SHOULD NOT be used if an antidote can be given to the victim within an hour after the bite, or if more than an hour has passed since the bite. • Do not use constrictions, pressure dressings or cooling compresses. • Do not feed the victim and do not give him alcohol. • Give the victim a little drink at short intervals. • If possible, give the victim an injection of an anti-shock agent (type IV DSW). • Apply an antidote. • If necessary, give the victim an anesthetic; morphine can be used. ELAPIDAE AND COLUBRIDAE • Drag the bitten limb over the bite, above the joint in a place where there is one bone (above the knee or on the forearm) to squeeze the artery. Loosen the constriction for 30 seconds every 20 minutes so that fresh blood enters the bitten limb. • Give the victim an antidote. • Do not use morphine or other narcotic substances that may cause breathing difficulties. HYDROPHINE In this case, only the timely use of an antidote can help. Sucking poison through an incision is useless. People affected by snakebites need to be treated for shock. If there are no antidotes, apply a tightening bandage to the bitten limb, BUT NOT A BAND, above the bite. The bite itself also needs to be bandaged. Cool the bite area with cold water, a compress or ice. FROM EXPERIENCE OF CANADIAN SPECIAL PURPOSES Burn treatment In combat situations, when people deal with ammunition and explosives, they are at increased risk of being seriously burned. Here's how Canadian soldiers treat burns. • The burn should be immediately washed with cold and clean (preferably distilled) water. • Remove from the burn all foreign objects and tissue residues. • Rinse the burn with hydrogen peroxide, then immediately treat with iodine tincture and then antibiotic powder. • Dress the burn with a non-adhesive, sterile dressing that provides good ventilation. DO NOT use hermetic and airtight dressings! • Change the dressing EVERY day; when changing the dressing, clean the burn with a sterile swab and rinse with hydrogen peroxide. • When cleaning the burn, remove the yellowish coating - frozen lymph. • After cleaning and rinsing the burn, dress it again https://rotorm.com/best-camping-plates/ https://rotorm.com/top-10-backpacking-thermometers/ https://rotorm.com/best-knife-oils/ https://rotorm.com/bushcraft-knives-under-50/ https://rotorm.com/best-israeli-bandage/ https://rotorm.com/ifak-pouches/ https://rotorm.com/best-edc-knives-under-50/ https://rotorm.com/hawkbill-knifes/ https://rotorm.com/best-paracord-braclet/ https://rotorm.com/best-monocular-for-backpacking/ Rotorm - Military Products https://rotorm.com/ Burns A burn can pose a serious danger to life in an extreme situation. There are three degrees of burn severity that you need to know. Here they are (in increasing order of severity): First degree burn - only the upper layer of skin is burned. Not dangerous. Second degree burn - the upper layer of the skin and the epidermis are affected. Severe redness of the skin, the formation of dropsy. A burn is extremely painful for 48 hours. The body loses a lot of fluid and can be infected through a burn. Third degree burn - the upper layer of the skin, the epidermis and internal tissues are affected. A very large amount of fluid is lost through such a burn; there is a serious risk of infection of the body through such a burn. The tissues around the burned place turn black (char), the burn is extremely painful. In an extreme situation, the loss of moisture by the body must be replenished orally. If you get burned, drink as much water as possible, but watch your urination. If it becomes too plentiful, reduce fluid intake. Be prepared to take action against shock. Shock This condition is caused, as a rule, by a large loss of blood circulating in the vessels of the victim. Blood loss can occur as a result of injury, leakage of blood into soft tissues (as, for example, in the case of a hip fracture), as well as a result of loss of body fluid as a result of active sweating, vomiting or diarrhea. Symptoms of shock - pallor, lowering body temperature, sticky sweat on the skin, rapid pulse of weak filling, rapid shallow breathing. Survival in extreme situations. SAS Experience Fig. 56. Fixation of fractures For first aid, make sure that there is no obstruction to breathing (see the chapter on restoring and maintaining breathing). Fractures should be processed (see above) and fixed (see Fig. 56). Ensure that the victim is completely at peace and kept warm. Any movement of the victim in a state of shock that could disturb him is dangerous to his life, and therefore, such movements should be avoided. This sounds like a matter of course, but in your attempts to bring the victim back to life, you can overdo it.
