As far as we have checked the theme locally it is working fine.

So please once verify whether you have uploaded the image in the Featured image section of the posts of the category that you have chosen to display in news section.

Actually we are having trouble in finding the section that you want to change the color . So please send us the screen shot of the section you are referring to .

To change the color of the mobile site menu go to Admin Panel > Appearance > Customize > Color Options > Primary Menu Color Options . Here you can find different options to change the color of menu section.

To change the word menu you have to create and activate the child theme.

You can also create the child theme using plugin. Below is the link to one of them.

After activating the child theme in your child themes functions.php file paste below given code:

Now you can change the word Menu to the one you want from the below line of code given below in your child theme functions.php file.

Please use below given CSS in order to remove the blue overlay in the image .

For this go to Admin Panel > Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS and paste below given CSS.

#featured-slider .overlay-enabled .cycle-slide::after{
background:none;
}

For the slider image the theme has recommended the size which is Slider Image : 1350px X 590px. So please try uploading the image of the recommended size .

The recommended size for slider image for this theme is 1350px X 590px. For the logo suggested image dimension is 150px X 150px.
