Ok. I followed all of the steps. Put my licence key in the field “Licence key”. click “Activate Licence” but nothing happens. Under the field I can still see “site is inactive”.

Was your License Key previously activated in some other domain or while site was in staging ?

This is the message that is shown in the dashboard:

Ok discovered the problem.
With qtranslate-X the activation will not work. Disabled the plugin. Repeated. Now it has activated. You should advise to turn off all plugins before activating.May 21, 2016 at 8:04 pm #8450

Ok update… i was so put off that I tried making another wp on the same website and copying all the files… but then magically the key thing started to work again. Hope it will continue… Thanks a lot. If I have any problems I will post here.May 22, 2016 at 4:44 am #8476
