when i hit customize for the pet theme, it keeps loading the site on the right side. It wont let me edit and view the customize part. I recently updated the theme and now this.

This kind of issue is very unlikely to happen and this issue is not from the theme. The issue might have raised due to third party plugin, so once verify by deactivating plugins one by one and check which plugin might have raised the issue.
Also, make sure that you haven’t made any customizations on your site.

I have deactivated all the 4 plugins I had on this wordpress and the relaoding is still happening. this happened the minute I upgraded the theme.

Regarding your loading issue, the below issues might have raised the issues.
1. It could be your server not having enough memory to run all the software installed. Which includes WordPress, Customizr Pro Theme and your large collection of plugins.
2. Or maybe your computer does not have enough processing power to run it.
3. You are having a different WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL)
So please once verify the issue.
Also, is there any console error, please find them and resolve if there are any.
