I can’t find a text editor plugin(tried two different ones) to work with it. If I turn the plugin on then I get a error message when trying to get into the custom section.

The error message that you have provided does not seem to theme related to Education Hub Pro theme.
Also, as the theme itself has not been tested with code editor plugins for compatibility, we cannot recommend any specific plugin usage for editing theme codes.
Furthermore, if you are trying use code editor plugins to edit theme codes, please be aware that the method is not recommended as it has the risks of generating fatal errors and also the changes are lost upon theme update if the theme is directly modified.
