First of all thank you very much for trying out the theme.
The About us section is setup entering the post id in the required field i.e. by going to Admin Panel > Appearance > Customize > Theme Options > Home Sections > About/Welcome Section to display the post.
Sice about section is displayed using the post, you can edit the content and the image of the post by going to that individual post edit from Admin Panel > Posts > All posts and to each post.

prntscr.com/j5ry3cAlso, the logo is setup from Admin Panel > Appearance > Customize > Site Identity, not from the location you have mentioned.

When we checked the theme locally, we were unable to find such kind of issue.
The issue is likely to cause to due activation of the third party plugin.
So you have installed any third party plugin please deactivate them one by one and verify the issue.
If the issue is resolved, you will know the exact plugin that is causing the issue.
If the issue still persists, kindly let us know.

The news post section will display the images by cropping to a certain size to make all the image display in uniform size.

To change the color of scroll to top button please use below given CSS by going to Admin Panel > Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS and paste below given CSS.
.scrollup { background: #88498f none repeat scroll 0 0; }
Here change the color code as per your requirement.

When we checked the theme locally, every option seems to work fine as you can see in below given screenshot:
So please make sure to activate the required plugin for the theme and deactivate any third party plugin which may have caused the issue.

You can control the no of the post to be displayed in the page from the Admin Panel > Settings > Reading > Blog pages show at most.

Even when we checked the individual post page, we did not find such issue i.e. the page is displaying fine as you can see in below given screenshots:

For the icon, once try using below-given CSS by replacing the code, link and font family.
.top-header .menu-icons a[href*="example.com"]:before{ content: '\your icon code'; font-family:'your font name'; }
If this does not solve the issue then please post your site URL so that we can inspect further and see what we can do.
As for the padding, it is the default padding that is provided by the theme. So now to remove the padding between the content and header use below given CSS.
.page #content { padding: 0px; }

The issue you have mentioned is quite unlikely to happen and also till date we have not faced such kind of issue.
So please make sure to properly save the setting once you assign the menu to the primary menu location and further if you have installed any third party plugin then please try deactivating them and verify the issue.
