As your page edit screen does not have the section to add the featured image please go to Admin Panel > Pages and then to the particular page edit screen.At the top right corner you will find the screen Options. Here you will see the Featured Image box option, check the box and the featured image section will appear.

While we have tested the theme locally the page edit screen has the option to add the featured image section.

Also If you have activated any third party plugin beside the one recommended by the theme please try deactivating theme and see if it works.

Also please post the screen shot of your page edit screen so that we can inspect further on this.

We have not tested the compatibility of the plugin with the theme so we are unable to help you on this .

Also for the error you have mentioned , we have tested the theme locally withe latest version and we are unable to find such issue .

I have disabled Tinymce and tried to update the post

And for above statements could explain it more clearly as we are having trouble in understanding what exactly you are trying to say.

As we have inspected the site URL you have posted we found that you have set your front page display to your latest post .

So to make the the featured image appear here you have to go to Admin Panel > Post/page and to specific post/page . Here you will see the featured image section where you can upload the image of your choice .

To disable the comment section in the pages you can use below CSS.

For this go to Admin Panel > Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS and paste below given CSS.

.page div#comments {
    display: none;
}

Also if you want to disable the comment section in specific page then you can use the above given CSS targeting the id of the page eg:

.page-30 div#comments {
    display: none;
}

You can the id value according to your page ID.
