Yes the update will be released soon as we have already found the fix,

untill the update you can use the following css code on
Dashboard -> Appearance -> Customize -> Theme Options -> Custom Css
to fix your issue

.wrapper-slider .slide-item:not(:first-child) {
 display: none;
 visibility: hidden;
}

As much as we would like to help you, the theme is not tested with any third party plugins as a result we are unable to tell which plugin works best with the theme.

You will find many plugins that will fulfill your need, so you can install the one by checking Compatible up to,Last Updated, Active Installs, etc to find the best one.
You can also check the Reviews for the best one.

So, the conclusion is you can install any plugin you want but it is not guaranteed that it will work 100% fine. It may work or it mayn’t work. But most probably the plugins works fine except some exceptional cases.

Seems like you have not assigned the feature image for the page you have assigned as featured posts.

To assign a image please go to

Dashboard -> Pages -> About Us and click on edit

Then after the page editor opens, on the bottom right you can see a set featured image option,
click the link and upload the featured image. Save and do the same for rest of the featured pages

You don’t need to do anything in child theme for update.
You need to go to Admin Panel / Appearance / Themes. Now check your parent theme, here you might have some notification regarding updating parent theme.
Now simply update your parent theme, then the child theme will inherit the update automatically.

Dashboard -> Appearance -> Customize -> Theme Options -> Advanced Options.

    background-size: 650px;
}
