Hello! I’m looking into the best way to display our website in both English and Spanish.

We have already completed a professional translation of all of our web content, so we don’t need to use any translation plug-ins or automatic translator. I need the capacity to either nestle another website in our already existing website as a sub-domain, or create a new website entirely by essentially cloning our English language website, and substituting the content in Spanish.

    Our URL is http://www.whedco.org

If I clone the website, would it be advisable to purchase another domain (such as http://www.whedco-es.org) for the Spanish version, and then build it as a separate website? We’re worried that if we have 2 websites with the same content (one in English and one in Spanish), we will experience problems with indexing on search engines.

Any thoughts on how to best create dual language websites? Again, we already have the translation ready.

    Hello @gigi,

Please be informed that while you are using two different domains for different languages, the theme licence will only be activated in the primary domain that you have registered with your account.

Regarding your query of best approach for multilingual site, our suggestion would be to use a multilingual plugin that offers fields to manually enter your content in different languages manually without having to use automatic translation.

In such case the content in both the language will be same and you can develop the site in two different language and you should not be getting problems with indexing on search engines.

    Hope this helps,

    Best Regards !!
